C-SocPhil Advisory Board member Darwin Stapleton speaks on foundation transparency and Rockfeller philanthropy during Australian tour.

BOSTON — Dr. Darwin H. Stapleton, Executive Director Emeritus of the Rockefeller Archive Center and Advisory Board member of the Center for Social Philanthropy, discussed problems in philanthropic transparency and the traditions of Rockefeller philanthropy during an Australian tour, which included a broadcast on Australian radio and a talk at the University of Melbourne.

On ABC Radio National, Dr. Stapleton joined Elizabeth Cham, Senior Fellow in Philanthropy at the University of Melbourne, in a discussion with Phillip Adams about the secretiveness of the Australia’s burgeoning philanthropic sector and the advantages and disadvantages of the largely voluntary approach to transparency that US foundations have taken.  The broadcast can be heard online.
